How do you ever learn to trust in the psychic guidance you receive? How do you learn to feel confident about doing readings for people? How do you really know if the information you are receiving is accurate?
My answer to all of those questions is simple. You don’t. You just keep going along for the ride anyways.
Take the first question. How have I learned to trust in the guidance? Well, I can’t honestly say I don’t trust in it because I do. I have had to learn to trust in it because I live according to the guidance I receive for myself. I earn my living by trusting in what I hear and see for others. I pass it on the best way I can and hope that it is the right information for them. I pray that it helps them navigate more skillfully through whatever lies ahead for them.
Do I absolutely know that what I receive is correct and tangible? No, I do not. I just have to act on it anyways because I have learned over the years that it usually steers me in the right direction. If I ignore it I usually regret that too.
Now, for the second question: How do I feel confident about offering readings? Again, I don’t. I have been doing this for over 12 years and I have stage fright before each and every reading. I am always afraid that I will fail. I worry that I will not be able to make a good connection or find any meaningful information. I started doing this work because friends and family members were asking me to and encouraging me to use my gift to help others. I have had to take those leaps of faith and continue with what I know to be one of my true callings.
When I read for people, (after I get over the pre-reading jitters) I feel good. I know that every day I am helping people to find more peace and hope in their lives. If you asked me outright why I started doing this, I would tell you that it certainly wasn’t confidence that got me started. It was need. I found myself a single mother of three children with no job and no income. I started doing readings because I needed the income. If I hadn’t been in those circumstances, I don’t know if I would ever have wound up the courage to get started. I think we are often placed into the exact circumstances we need to prod us into situations we may not willingly step into. I also know that doing this work has, in turn, helped me to find more peace in my own life.
I was nudged into this work by others who had faith in me, and by my own need. I had somehow been blessed with a gift, but it took a lot of work to develop it into something that was useful. I had to learn how to call on it at will and turn it off when I needed to rest. My belief is that everyone has some sort of intuitive skill. Heck, if I can do this stuff, anyone should be able to. I don’t think of myself as different from the average person.
On the last question: How do I know the information is accurate? Again, most of the time, I don’t. I get feedback from many of my clients. They contact me to tell me when something I have told them has come to pass, but I don’t hear from everyone. I get a lot of referrals, so I guess I am doing something right. I am still just going along for the ride and trying to learn to trust. It’s a whole new ball game each and every day and I wish you’d come out to play sometime.
