You will love this. A simple, easy-to-make cleanser you can make at home with items you probably have hanging around.

This cleanser works. I have combination skin. When I tried cleansers to dry up the oily parts of my skin, the rest of my skin got too dry. When I switched to a more gentle, moisturizing cleanser, I would break out in pimples! (I am far too old for pimples!)

I have teenagers and adolescent kids in the house and this cleanser works for them too!

We all know that the health of the skin comes from inside right? So yes, we still need to eat healthy fruits and vegetables and lay off of the greasy, the acidic, and the sweet stuff to keep our skin looking healthy. But, we could all use a little help. Right? You can do one of my cosmetic techniques if you have a more severe problem. I can offer cosmetic acupuncture and cosmetic cupping for acne, sagging skin and for firming up fine lines, but this cleanser is so wonderful, I just wanted to share it.

Here is the recipe:
Caution: Those who are allergic to bee stings could react to putting honey on the skin.Try putting a small dab of honey on your inner wrist before using this. If you have anaphylactic reaction to bee stings, it is probably best not to use this recipe.

1/4 cup of liquid honey
1/2 cup of glycerin
1 tablespoon of liquid soap
(My secret is to use a little more than 1/2 a cup of liquid glycerin soap from “The Soap Works”)

That’s it! So easy! Mix it up until it is fully blended and put in a clean plastic squirt bottle.

Options:
For more oily skin, or for teens with acne, add a few drops of essential oil of grapefruit or tea tree to dry up pimples.
For a soothing and relaxing tingle, add a few drops of essential oil of lavender
For dryer skin, add about 1/2 teaspoon of vitamin E
Directions:
Wet face, pour a dime sized drop of wash in the palm of your hand and gently rub onto your face. Rinse and moisturize with your favourite moisturizer if you need to.  Some people may not need to moisturize after as the skin feels soft and moist after the wash.
The Secret:
Honey is naturally antimicrobial and will gently cleanse away bacteria on the skin. The glycerin will allow the honey to glide over the skin without being sticky and messy. Totally non-toxic. You could eat the stuff and not be harmed at all. (Except for the soapy taste!)

Hope you enjoy this and you’ll save hundreds of dollars on facial cleansers!

I am still offering services from Tuesday to Friday and teaching Reiki on some weekends. I hope to add another level 1 Reiki to my schedule, but I will be waiting to see how my spring term plays out at school before firming that up.

If you are keeping up with my website, you will notice that there are a few changes and a couple of omissions. These are intentional and I will explain more.

First off, you will notice that I am now charging HST. I have tried to work out the numbers so that the prices come to even amounts to help with making change etc. Although I do have debit or credit card available too, so that makes life easier for everyone!

You may also notice that something is missing off of my services list. You will no longer see readings on my list of services. Please don’t panic! I know that some of you really love having a reading every so often. It is not that I won’t offer readings to anyone, but I am scaling back on that part of my practice. I have taken the readings off of the website because I am not really looking for new clients in that area. I will still be available for past clients who wish to come back, or for word-of-mouth referrals for the next while at least.

My readings have not been feeling quite right for the last while. It is hard to explain why, but when I don’t feel completely right doing something, I pay attention that that feeling.  I believe that I am doing too many other things right now, with school, Reiki, Reiki classes, acupuncture, cupping therapy, Tuina massage etc. Readings can be very draining and they involve using a different aspect of my consciousness. When I am focused on so many other things, it is difficult to shift gears and get into “reading mode.” So, I am scaling back so that I can be sure that when I do offer a reading, I have the energy and the will to do my best.

I would also like to take this moment to remind you that you really should try to keep readings as a once-or-twice-a-year-or-so kind of thing. If you are coming for readings too frequently, you are not going to learn to rely on your own intuition and you could become too dependent on the advice of others to solve your problems. Also, of course you can always purchase my psychic development course, (which is still on sale), to learn to develop your own skills.

I am also very happy to refer you to some of the other great readers we have in the area. Check out this page for a listing of people that I know you will be happy to work with. It is a good idea to work with different people now and again. They may have a different perspective or style and you never know what you could learn by giving them a try.
